Plasticised PVC: Strong demand / Cable and construction industries particularly lively / Import volumes rise from low level
The Russian market for plasticised PVC is growing significantly. According to estimates, consumption has more than doubled in the last five years, from 118,600 t in 2000 to 279,400 t in 2006. The main stimulus is from the cable and construction industries, says a report from the German Office for Foreign Trade (bfai, Cologne / Germany; www.bfai.de).
