On August 28 President of Bashkortostan Murtaza Rakhimov visited Nizhniy Novgorod, where the meeting of the chairman of the national anti-terrorist committee Alexander Bortnikov was held with the heads of regional anti-terrorist committees in Volga federal district. The Plenipotentiary of President RF in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota, the first deputy director - the head of Russian FSS Frontier Service Vladimir Pronitchev, heads of Russian regions in Volga federal district, heads of regional divisions of Ministry of justice RF, Ministry of internal affairs RF and Ministry of emergency situations RF, heads of the territorial FSS divisions and regional frontier services, representatives of Russian Ministry of defense, the officers of Russian Security Council, machineries of the National anti-terrorist committee and the State Frontier Commission took part in it.
The agenda included wide circle of questions, connected with holding the anti-terrorist operations in Volga federal district. As the chairman of the National anti-terrorist committee, Director of Russian FSS Alexander Bortnikov stated, "despite all preventive steps undertaken the number of crimes of terrorist orientation still remains rather high".
